Geoffrey’s project will provide a safe place for school children at Light of Hope to play. |
Project: To build a rooftop playground with play equipment for a school that currently has no area for children to play. Summary: The Ashar Alo school (Light of Hope) with 162 students, located in Sayed Nogor Dhaka, Bangladesh, faces one major challenge: a lack of space for children to play. Land is scarce, buildings are crowded together, and the school compound is too small to accommodate a playground. As a result, children do not have safe places to run, exercise or engage in recreational activities. This project will construct a rooftop playground for the children with appropriate playground equipment. Geoffrey shares that a playground with proper play equipment provides key benefits including promoting physical health, enhancing learning and academic performance, encouraging social skills and teamwork and providing a safe play environment in a protected area.
