Learn and Serve is a week-long program that focuses on equipping Christian youth to be sensitive to the needs of the world. A young person at SIFAT is thought of as a Missionary In Training, or MIT for short. Bring your youth group for an unforgettable mission experience that will include:

• Projects of servanthood
• The Aldea Experience in our Global Village
• Simulation games and group initiatives
• Shade Tree learning activities (appropriate technologies and mission skills)
• Praise and worship
• Interaction with international Christian leaders

Part of the week will be spent in our Global Village. While there, MITs will live and work as residents of developing countries--bartering for food and supplies, cooking meals, working the land, and sleeping in hammocks. The opportunity to immerse oneself in the setting of a Third World country without leaving the safety of the U.S. is a special part of SIFAT; the Aldea Experience continues to prove unforgettable.

Learn and Serve is divided into three phases, depending on the age and previous experience of the youth group. Phase 1 introduces MITs to mission work through service projects, mission-oriented activities, the Aldea Experience, and interaction with international Christian leaders. Phase 2 emphasizes an intensive 72-hour Aldea Experience along with mission-oriented activities. Phase 3 introduces a community outreach component as the MITs reach out to children in the area.
