In keeping with our belief that development--not relief--is the key to overcoming poverty, we offer three training components here at SIFAT:

SIFAT CARES Interactive Learning Experiences, offers field trips to the public, rpivate, Christian and home school students as well as youth groups and scout troops. The curriculum features creative opportunities for youth from kindergarten through high school to participted in hands-on activities with an internaitonal perspective. SIFAT CARES field trips are available throughout the year. Events are cross-culturally oriented and take place within our village or on other parts of our campus.

Learning practical and appropriate skills, Christians from around the world to share God's love in practical ways. A ten-week international practicum is offered for Christian leaders who plan to work in poor communities. Building on principles of community development, the practicum includes appropriate technologies, community health, program planning and proposal writing, micro enterprise, and computer skills for development. To facilite interaction and participation, classes are kept small. Students usually come from several countries which heightens cross-cultural learning for all.

Here at SIFAT, we offer a short-term internship from three months to one year for students who successfully complete the practicum. Interns put into practice all they have learned by serving in the Third World under a SIFAT-trained or approved national Christian worker.
