SHORT TERM MISSIONS

Mission teams with SIFAT give long-term help through their short-term presence. As a small part of a larger development project, members have the satisfaction of knowing their work will continue to be built upon long after they have returned home.

• Medical teams treat the sick, and teach local health workers, school children and communities how to prevent disease.
• Construction teams work with churches and communities, not for them.
• Evangelism teams work under the local Christian leaders to build ongoing ministry.

STM teams abroad focus on building cross-cultural relationships through the love of Jesus Christ. A member will get his hands dirty while learning first-hand about issues of poverty and injustice. She will walk in the shoes of people in need, understanding why people are poor and how she can change some of the suffering in this world.

With a history of strong in-country relationships, plus quality staffing and projects, we at SIFAT are equipped to customize a short-term mission opportunity for colleges and universities seeking cross cultural experiences in major discipline areas. For example, education majors may work with early childhood curriculum of 1200 daycare children; engineering majors may work with alternative energy sources in the high remote areas of the Andes; botany majors can work in the Madidi National Rain Forest.
